Tour Overview
The Messina Strait, nestled between the Sicilian and Calabrian coasts, is one of Italy’s most enchanting destinations. Known for its winds and opposing currents, it has long been steeped in legend. The meeting of these currents creates subtle whirlpools on the sea’s surface, which ancient Greek sailors believed were home to two mythical sea monsters, Scylla and Charybdis, lurking beneath the waves.
These unique currents and the distinctive chemistry of the waters foster an extraordinary ecosystem teeming with diverse species. You’ll sail safely, powered by the wind, under the guidance of an experienced skipper and the owner of one of Sicily’s most comfortable and elegant offshore sailboats, “Mascalzone Siculo”.
We’ll anchor to swim in the crystalline waters of the Strait and uncover the secrets of sailing! From the water, you’ll enjoy a unique perspective of Messina and delve into its rich history together. Don’t miss out — book now and experience this unforgettable adventure!
