Monreale and Cefalù tour with private trasportation

Monreale and Cefalù tour with private trasportation

Tour Overview

During this tour we will discover the magnificent medieval architecture and the features of the Norman artistic language by visiting the most significant monuments built under the Norman kings in Sicily. Monreale is a hilltop village known all over the world for its stunning Arab-Norman Cathedral, whose inner surface is decorated with a mosaic carpet of more than 6,000 square metres made by authentic Byzantine artists. Considered one of the wonders of Western art, it showcases extraordinary Byzantine and Arab influences. The adjacent cloister, dating back to the same period, is truly unique with its 228 differently decorated columns.

Next, we will head to Cefalù, a seaside village 70 km from Palermo, to enjoy the beauty of the Sicilian landscape, the Norman Cathedral with its famous “Christ Pantocrator,” the medieval castle, and its golden beaches. Once a simple fishing village until the 1950s, Cefalù has since become one of the most visited destinations on the island.
