Itinerary
- Meeting Point: We will meet near the Norman Palace ticket office to visit the stunning Palatine Chapel and the Royal Apartments, which currently serve as the venue for Sicilian Parliament meetings. (Note: Access to the Royal Apartments is available only on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays, and public holidays.)
- Main Street and Cathedral: We’ll stroll down the main street to visit Palermo’s majestic Cathedral.
- Quattro Canti (Four Corners Square): Our walk continues to the famous Quattro Canti, the most Instagrammable spot in the historic centre.
- Pretoria Square and the “Fountain of Shame”: We’ll stop at Pretoria Square to marvel at the “Fountain of Shame,” one of the city’s most significant monuments, featuring remarkable statues inspired by classical mythology and Michelangelo’s art.
- Bellini Square: We will visit Bellini Square to admire its iconic Arab-Norman monuments, recognizable by their distinctive semi-spherical domes.
- Saint Catherine’s Monastery: Our tour includes the monumental complex of Saint Catherine’s Monastery, where we’ll explore the cloister and the nuns’ pastry shop, visit the adjacent Baroque-style church, and enjoy breathtaking views of the city skyline from the rooftop terrace.
- Maqueda Street and the Massimo Theater: After strolling along Maqueda Street, we will finish our tour in front of the Massimo Theater, one of Palermo’s most famous early 20th-century buildings and a majestic landmark of the city.
