Taormina and Castelmola tour with private trasportation

Tour overview

Taormina, often referred to as “The Pearl of the Mediterranean,” is a stunning town renowned for its breathtaking landscapes and historical monuments. Founded by Greek colonists in the mid-4th century BC and later inhabited by the Romans, Taormina’s rich history reflects the influence of multiple civilizations that have called Sicily home. The town’s modern layout still follows its medieval origins, with picturesque narrow streets that wind along the natural slopes of the hill. Taormina boasts remarkable landmarks from its glorious past, including the Greek and Roman Theater, the Roman Odeon, and several beautiful Gothic-Catalan style palaces and churches. Today, Taormina is a sought-after international destination, famous for its luxury hotels, restaurants, and scenic rooftops. Perched above Taormina, Castelmola is a charming hilltop village situated 500 meters above sea level. It preserves the ruins of a Norman castle built in the 12th century and remnants of 13th-century fortifications. The village’s famous Belvedere offers a breathtaking view of Naxos Bay, Taormina, and Mount Etna in the distance. A stroll through Castelmola’s narrow streets feels like stepping back in time!
