Tour of Lipari Island with private trasportation

Tour of Lipari Island with private trasportation

Tour Overview

Lipari, the largest island of the Aeolian archipelago, has been inhabited since the late 6th millennium BC. The first Neolithic settlement was built on the rocky outcrop where the medieval castle now stands. In the late 7th century BC, the Greeks arrived and transformed the rock into the acropolis of their new colony. Within the castle walls you’ll explore remnants of prehistoric villages, the grand Cathedral of Saint Bartolo, and the renowned Archaeological Museum — home to Sicily’s most complete archaeological stratification.

Lipari’s Marina Corta, a charming fishing village, retains its authentic atmosphere now enhanced by restaurants and cafés. The Belvedere di Quattrocchi offers a breathtaking panorama of Vulcano, the iconic Sea Stacks, and the secluded Vinci Beach. We’ll also visit Canneto, the former pumice quarry — a striking white canyon active until the Aeolian Islands gained UNESCO status in 2000 — and finish with a tasting of the island’s famous Malvasia delle Lipari D.O.C. sweet wine and Sicilian granita.
